Cranford Gray Calhoun

Cranford Gray Calhoun, age 85, of Carthage, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Pinelake Health and Rehab in Carthage, with his family by his side.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery in Carthage with Full Military Honors.

Cranford was born in Surry County, North Carolina on June 13, 1932 to Oscar and Mary Calhoun.  He proudly served his country with over 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Annemarie Calhoun; son, Robert Henry Calhoun and wife Diane of Cameron; grandchildren, Jimmy Calhoun, Chad Calhoun, Anna Lucas, Sheena Cox, Cindle Calhoun and Robert Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Aidan, Ariana, Joe, Piper, Hattie, Luke, Brooklyn and Gemma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mary Calhoun; daughter, Sally Calhoun; sisters, Irene Bullins and Pansy Jones.
