Kieran Higgins

Kieran Higgins ("Kevin") passed away peacefully at home on July 17, 2017 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Higgins. Memories of Kevin will be cherished by his three daughters, Carol Pillsbury and husband Rick, Marguerite Edwards and husband John, and Denise Higgins as well as his three grandchildren, Anna and Rachel Gilmer and Caitlen Edwards. 

Kevin immigrated from Ireland to NYC with his wife Anna in the 1950s. He was employed by the NYC Department of Transportation for many years and raised his family in Chester, New York. Upon retirement to NC with Anna, he enjoyed many years gardening, fishing, reading, traveling, and spoiling his three grandchildren. 

Kevin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was the neighbor that everyone loved, always willing to lend a helping hand or a sympathetic ear.  Although his memory slowly faded over the years, his sweet, gentle disposition continued to shine brightly. 

The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to his caregiver Karen West and her family, husband Dennis and daughter Jamie, for the loving care they provided to him during the remaining years of his life. 

A Celebration of Life will be planned in the weeks to come.
