Margaret Ann Smith

Margaret Ann Billups Smith, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2017 at Pinehurst Health and Rehab, with her family by her side.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Huntington, West Virginia.

Margaret was born in Huntington, West Virginia on May 10, 1925 to George Norman and Audrey Purdue Billups.  She was a life long member of Highlawn Baptist Church.  Her greatest legacy was her daughter and son-in-law David, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who called her “Mammie.”  She was known for her potato soup and feisty yet good sense of humor.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Dawn Bias and husband David of Pinehurst; grandchildren, Joanna Bias Scott and husband Anthony of Greensboro and Janna Griffin; great-grandchildren, Avery Scott, Griffin Scott and Maggie Scott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Smith; parents, George Norman and Audrey Purdue Billups; sisters, Virginia Geer and Norma Billups.
