Neill Dougald McFadyen

Neill Dougald McFadyen, age 90, of Vass, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Cypress Presbyterian Church in Cameron with Rev. Richard Rodda and Rev. Barbara Hedin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A reception for the family and friends will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

Dougald was born in Vass, North Carolina on September 14, 1926 to Dougald Alexander and Fannie  Stewart McFadyen  He proudly served in the U.S. Navy 1945-1946. He then began a career as a machinist at Saco Lowell in Jonesboro, North Carolina.  He continued his career at Siemens Corporation in Sanford.  He was a lifetime member of Cypress Presbyterian Church and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Stewart Morrison McFadyen and wife Patricia of Vass and Jane McFadyen McInnis and husband Richard of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Katherine, Andrew and Robert McFadyen, Scott McInnis and wife Ashton and Alan McInnis and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Brooks McFadyen; parents, Dougald Alexander and Fannie Stewart McFadyen; sisters, Ruth Johnson, Sarah Barnes and Iris Spivey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cypress Presbyterian Church, P O Box 7, Cameron, NC 28327.
