What a gracious man. Always welcoming when I would stop by. Ate many scuppernongs at my grandfathers home which came from the McFadyen vines! Thanks for being a friend and a pillar of the family. Prayers to all.

When we think of Doug, we think of a ready smile, twinkling eyes, and a warm welcome. We don't think he ever met a stranger. He brought warmth, good humor and cheer to his interactions, and people loved him for it. In the last year, Chester particularly enjoyed phone conversations with Doug. Neither of them were very mobile but that didn't prevent them from enjoying each other's company over the phone. We count this as a great loss, though we know for Doug it is the gain of eternal life. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jane, Stewart, and their families as they gather to mourn, but also to celebrate a life well-lived. Our love to all, Chester and Ann Blue Robertson
