Edna Frances Johnson

Edna Holder Johnson, age 79, of Pittsboro, formerly of Sanford, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at UNC Hospice House in Pittsboro, surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Fork Christian Church in Sanford.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

Edna was born in Cameron, North Carolina on March 25, 1939 to Iredell Vestal and Mamie Davis Holder. She worked as a teacher’s assistant with the Lee County Schools for over 30 years. Edna was a faithful member of Rocky Fork Christian Church. Her achievements in life were numerous but she will be remembered as a woman of God who loved everyone and everyone loved her as well.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joe Johnson; children, Michael Johnson of Pittsboro and Stephanie Johnson Henry and husband Michael of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Ashley Marie Henry and Joshua Michael Henry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Iredell Vestal and Mamie Davis Holder; sister, Rachael Holder Comer; brother, Johnny I. Holder.
