John Mason Stroder

John Mason Stroder, age 54, of Vass, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019.

A visitation will be held at Cox Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Vass with Pastor Bill Davis and Pastor Trey Majure officiating.  Burial will follow in Johnson Grove Cemetery with Military Honors.

John was born in Missouri on September 22, 1964 to Jerry Jerome Stroder and Kathryn Snider Stroder.  He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy. John was a devoted husband and father, a loving son, brother and friend.  We mourn his untimely death but will cherish his memories forever. John enjoyed camping and jeep trail riding. He also loved spending time with family and friends. One of John’s biggest honors was being a devoted father and watching Lauren grow into a beautiful young lady. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Frye Stroder and daughter, Lauren Brooks Stroder of the home; mother, Kathryn Snider Stroder of Missouri; sister, Deana Kay Holbert of Missouri; brother, Jeffrey Allen Stroder of Vass.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Jerome Stroder.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a College Fund set up for Lauren Stroder in care of First Bank, P O Box 327, Vass NC 28394.
