Maria Elisa Mallard

Maria Elisa Rivera Mallard, age 63, of Cameron, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at UNC Hospital, surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 6:00 p.m at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Dubbs officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Maria was born in Arizona on March 17, 1955 to Felix and Carmen Castro Rivera. She spent her working career as a homemaker. We will forever remember that contagious smile.  She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Alisa Vance and husband Steven of Cameron, Cassie Varga and husband Addyon of New York, Alex Mallard of Pinebluff, Amy Camacho and husband Miguel; brothers, Felix Rivera, Jr of Nevada, Silver Rivera, Albert Rivera, Ricardo Rivera and Jesse Rivera all of Arizona; grandchildren, Annika, Rylan, Elijah, Aszaviyo, Xandrean, Tyjah, Caylee and Bradley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Carmen Castro Rivera and three sisters, Jennie, Olivia and Carmen.
