Rosie Spivey Smith

Rosie Spivey Smith, age 72, of Cameron, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Cox Memorial Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. and other times at the home and also at her sister’s home Lillie O’Quinn, 3416 Cemetery Road, Sanford, NC.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Pineywood Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Rosie was born in Harnett County on January 4, 1946 to James Alvin and Esther Norris Spivey.  She was a member of Pineywood Church for many years. She was always a source of inspiration and leaves behind a harvest of memories to cherish and honor. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Rosemary Lemond Davis-Taylor (Lisa) of Cameron, Leland Davis (Nicole) of Virginia; sisters, Virginia Lane (David) of Cameron, Lillie O’Quinn (Donnie) of Sanford; grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Courtney and Madison; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Abbie, Arriana and Rylee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Alvin and Esther Norris Spivey and a sister, Doris Stamper.
