Edward Russell Thomas, II

Lt. Col. (retired) Edward Russell Thomas, II, age 76, of Vass, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Cameron Presbyterian Church, 600 Carthage Street, Cameron, NC 28326 with Rev. Canessa Lagan officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Edward was born in New Bern, North Carolina on September 15, 1943 to the late Edward Russell Thomas and Josie Mae Thomas. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Thomas. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army with over 21 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lynda Thomas; children, Russ Thomas, III (Heather) of Asheville, NC and Kara Burrows (Chris) of Williamsburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Griffin, Tucker, Josie, Kathryn and Carter.
