Eleanor Tierno Colangelo

Eleanor Tierno Colangelo, age 95, of Seven Lakes passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Eleanor was born in Binghamton, New York, on December 31, 1924 to the late Andrew Tierno and Jane Vuolo Tierno. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Colangelo, of 64 years.  She had a great talent for art and graduated from Syracuse University with an art degree in 1947.  She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Southern Pines, and an avid golfer, bridge, and mahjongg player during her retirement years in Florida.  Eleanor was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Donald Colangelo of Jacksonville, Florida, Lynne Stauderman of Seven Lakes, NC,  Carol Randesi (James) of Endwell, New York, and Stephen Colangelo (Ann) of West Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Laura Stauderman of Fuquay-Varina, NC, David Colangelo of Colorado, Sarah Colangelo Boswell also of Colorado, Joseph Colangelo of California, Anthony Randesi, Julia Randesi, Lisa Randesi Melena, Celia Randesi Temple, all of New York, Daniel Colangelo, Stephen Colangelo and Andrew Colangelo all of Florida; great-grandchildren, Dominic Randesi, Nevaeh Melena, and Leliana Temple of New York, Sammy Boswell and Connor Boswell of Colorado.

Burial services will be scheduled at Calvary Cemetery in Binghamton, New York, at a later date.
