Stephen Pitela Obituary

Stephen Pitela, age 89, of Vass Woodlake, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

Stephen was born in New Jersey on March 11, 1932 to the late Michael Pitela and Stella Zurcmanoviche Pitela. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley O’Neil Pitela.

He is survived by sisters, Ann of Michigan and Helen of Pennsylvania and nephew, Patrick Hanrahan of Florida and many more nieces and nephews.

Burial will take place in Gar Cemetery, Homer, Illinois. No local service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
