Foy "Buddy" Oxendine

Foy “Buddy” Oxendine, age 84, of Pinebluff, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home in Pinebluff.  Burial will follow at The Jones Family Cemetery in Red Springs.

Buddy was born in Pembroke, North Carolina on October 16, 1932 to Willie and Sallie Locklear Oxendine.  We can proudly say that Buddy made a lasting impression on everyone he met with his charm, which was only surpassed by the size of his heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him which was many.

He is survived by his children, Earl Oxendine of Red Springs, Foy Oxendine, Jr. of St Pauls, Bill Oxendine of Red Springs, Helen Lawrey of St Pauls; wife, Margaret Oxendine of St Pauls; sisters, Frances Collins of Red Springs, Betty Jones of St Pauls; brother Winston Oxendine of Aberdeen, Pernell Oxendine of Charlotte; a very special friend of 22 years, Shelby Knight of Pinebluff; twenty one grandchildren, thirty one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Sallie Locklear Oxendine; children, Carol Oxendine and Joyce Oxendine; sister, Annie Mae Williams; brothers, Paul Oxendine, Sim Oxendine and Belvin Oxendine.
