Jimmie Delano Ross

Jimmie Delano Ross, age 80, of Carthage, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Pinelake Health and Rehab in Carthage, surrounded by his family.

A visitation will be held at Cox Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at New Home Baptist Church with Pastor William Maness, Jr., Pastor Gregg Newton and Pastor David Reynolds officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Jimmie was born in Moore County on May 22, 1937 to the late James E. and Mary Ellen Ross.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Ross. He was a lifelong resident of Moore County where he spent his working career as a self-employed farmer.  He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Ring Ross; sons, Tony Ross and wife Tabitha of Carthage, Gerald Ross of Pennsylvania and Dennis Ross of Carthage; sisters, Margie Barber of Carthage, Joyce Tubbs of Apex and Dorothy Gillis of Roxboro; brothers, Josel Ross of Southern Pines, Jerry Ross of Carthage and Jesse Ross of Sanford; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
