Kina Lynn Martinez

Kina Lynn Martinez, age 38, of Vass, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 in Raleigh.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Eugene Ussery officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Kina was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina on September 8, 1979 to Cloyd Chavis and Bonnie Roberts. For many years, she worked as a mail carrier.  Kina enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, loving her children and reading the bible. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her mother, Bonnie Roberts and husband Mike of Carthage; children, Amber Talbert, Christian Talbert, Shannon Thompson all of Carthage, Marcus Veriz and Jackie Vertiz both of Vass; sisters, Shatana Heath of South Carolina, Rachel Chavis of Vass and Abigail Roberts of Carthage; brother, Zach Chavis; grandson, Ayden and a special companion, Carmen Quintero.

She was preceded in death by a son, Omar Vertiz and father, Cloyd Chavis.
