Ruth Garner Walston

Ruth Garner Walston, age 71, of Sanford, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing Home in Sanford.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ruth was born in Sanford, North Carolina on April 1, 1947 to Erving and Mary Garner. She was always a source of inspiration and leaves behind a harvest of memories to cherish. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Rock Cox and wife Melinda of Olivia, Rhonda Cox also of Olivia and Manny Sosa and wife Melinda of Sanford; brothers, Charles and Mike Garner both of Sanford; grandchildren, Heather, Anna, Kenly, Cammie and Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erving and Mary Garner; sisters, Mary and Joann; brothers, Bobby and Ervin.
