April Jane (Smith) Turney

April Smith Turney, age 41, of Vass, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1 until 2. Burial will follow at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Vass.

April was born in Moore County on April 3, 1981, to Teresa Denise Garner and the late Calvin Ray Smith. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Dillon Turney, sister, Christy Garner.

April spent her working career in the medical field. She was a people person, she love making people happy and serving them in any way possible. April loved dragon flies but most of all she loved her family dearly and spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ken Turney; children, Makayla Turney, Logan Ray Turney, Dawson William Turney; a very special friend for life, Mike Crabtree of Vass.
