Bernard Francis Markey

Bernard Francis Markey, age 71, of Southern Pines, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Bernard was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on August 27, 1950 to Bernard F. and Frances Sheehan Markey. He loved spending time at the beach surfing and was proud to be a man of faith.  He was a loving father, son, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his sons, Derek Markey and wife Laura of Texas, Tom Markey and wife Molly of West End and Jack Manning of Asheville; mother, Frances Sheehan Markey; brother, Bill Markey; seven grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date at the beach.
