Betty Ring Womble, age 84, of Vass, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 2:00pm at Open Arms Community Church with Pastor John Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 at the church. Burial will follow at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Vass. Immediately following the graveside service family and friends will gather at the home of Doris and Gene Whitaker on Lobelia Road in Vass.
Betty loved to crochet and taking fishing trips to the beach. She was a very loving and special mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed.
Betty was born in Moore County on April 20, 1938, to the late Bundy Allen Ring and Gladys Wallace Ring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Womble, daughter, Joy Annette Smith, son, Marty Alan Willard, sister, Carolyn Blue, brothers, Clarence Allen, Jimmy Howard, Ronnie Lee and Lloyd, grandson, Aaron Willard, granddaughter, Aranda Kuhn and sister-in-law, Diane Hardy.
She is survived by her children, David Willard (Shelley), Mitchell Willard, Jody Williams (Jeff), sister, Doris Whitaker (Gene), daughter-in-law, Kaye Willard; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
