Carlos Mendoza Diaz

Carlos Mendoza Diaz, age 86, of Vass, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025 at his home with his best friend Sylvia Ring by his side.

A Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 2:00PM at Johnson Grove Cemetery with Pastor John Brown officiating.

Carlos was born in Puerto Rico on May 3, 1939 to the late Jose Mendoza and Esmeraldo Diaz.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Susie Mendoza; three sisters and five brothers.

Carlos proudly served his country for 23 years in the US Army serving as a radio operator.  He later went on to retire with 20 plus years with Vass-Lakeview Elementary School serving as a Custodian.

He is survived by his sons, Steven Clouse (Alice) of Indiana, Michael Clouse (Heather) of Calabash, Carlos Mendoza of Texas, Miguel Mendoza of Texas, daughter, Neilda Sirrea of Texas; grandchildren, Dawson, Katherine, Arianna and one great-grandson.
