Charlie Miller McGehee, age 80, of Cameron, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at UNC Hospice Care in Pittsboro, surrounded by his family.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Cameron Community Cemetery with Pastor Ralph Douglas officiating.
A visitation will be held at Cox Memorial Funeral Home from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the graveside service.
Charlie was born in Sanford, North Carolina on September 25, 1940 to the late Jim and Katie Godfrey McGehee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Gillett and brother, Owen McGehee. He spent his career as a brick mason and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed sitting on his porch watching the birds, contemplating life and waiting for his favorite meal of Kentucky Fried Chicken and ice cream for dessert. Charlie will certainly be missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Hall McGehee; daughter, Tammy Metcalf of Cameron; son, Tony McGehee (Paula) of Broadway; sisters, Patricia Ayers, Lillian “Tennie” King, Betty Capps, Mary Terry, Sarah “Cathy” Kirby; brothers, John Ed McGehee, James McGehee; grandchildren, Kelli McGehee, Chance McGehee; great-grandchildren, Phoenix Grace Donithan and Jaxon Donithan.
