Crystal Ann (Mays) Cianchetta

Crystal Ann (Mays) Cianchetta of Vass, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on April 25, 2026. 

Crystal was born in Fort Worth, TX on December 25, 1953. She eventually moved to LaGrange, NY, where she graduated from Arlington High School and met the love of her life, Tony Cianchetta. They were married for 54 years and have three children and five grandchildren.

Crystal was known for her loving and kind personality that made others feel welcome and included. She enjoyed many hobbies, including gardening, playing the piano, and spoiling her Shih Tzu, Cassie. She loved hosting dinners, celebrating holidays with her family, and vacationing in Emerald Isle and Beech Mountain.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Tony; her daughter, Jennifer Riordan and husband Ray; her son, Anthony Cianchetta and wife Erika; and her son David Cianchetta and partner Deanna Norris. She was the proud grandmother of Caleb, Noah, Antonella, Camilo, and Valentina, and she enjoyed spending time with Deanna's daughters.

Crystal was involved in many local clubs, including Woodlake Birds and Blooms Club and Woodlake Women's Club. She and Tony were also active members of the Vass Lions Club, where they pioneered the Vass Lions School Garden Program and led it for 12 years. Crystal devoted countless hours to researching her family genealogy, which ultimately led to her induction into the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 16 at 2:00 PM at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 4888 US Highway 1, Vass, NC 28394. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
