David Charles Wheeler

David Charles Wheeler, age 69, of Raeford, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.

A viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel from 5 until 7.

David was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina on January 18, 1956, to the late Gordon Wheeler and Betty Jean Moore Crowl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Blue, brother, Steven Wheeler, grandchild, Catherine Whitaker.

He loved hunting, fishing, drag racing, building race cars and visiting the mountains. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.

He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Karen Evans Wheeler; sons, Andy Whitaker of West End, Randy Whitaker of Raeford, Christopher Wheeler (Christina) of Vass; grandchildren, Savannah Whitaker Burton (Patrick), Noah Whitaker, Caleb Whitaker, Sophia Whitaker, Baylee Wheeler, Chase Wheeler; great-grandson, Shane Burton; sisters, Debbie Marion of Carthage, Cindy Walker of Robbins; brothers, Billy Wheeler of Carthage, John Crowl of Ashley Heights.
