Derryl Jay Raymond

Derryl Jay Raymond, age 62, of Southern Pines, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 until 3. Burial will be private.

He was born in New Hampshire on July 27, 1961 to the late Leon Raymond and Carol Stowe Raymond. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elise Raymond Rowe, Penny Raymond, grandson, Ezekiel Thomas Raymond.

Derryl was a master carpenter and loved to ride his four-wheeler and motorcycle but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by sons, Corey Jay Raymond (Leslie) of Pinebluff, Patric Michael Raymond (Melissa) of Whispering Pines; brother, David C. Raymond of Vass; step-brother, Michael Raymond of North Myrtle Beach; former wife, Jan Thomasson; step-sisters, Mary Ann Raymond also of North Myrtle Beach, Linda Raymond-Swords of South Carolina, Kathy Raymond-Martin of Georgia; grandchildren, Hailey Tedder, Skye Raymond, Sheridan Raymond, Amelia Raymond, Zoe Raymond and his beloved dog, Jada.
