Doris Mae (Wilson) Edmisten

Doris Mae Wilson Edmisten, age 79, of Vass, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at her home.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 2:00pm at Highland Baptist Church in Vass with Rev. Jane Andrews officiating.

Doris was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina to the late John Willis Wilson and Annie Mae Pate Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Franklin Edmisten, sister, Joann Cummings, brother, Gary Wilson, grandchild, Robin.

She is survived by her children, Angela Quincey (James) of Kentucky, Christen Ussery (Kevin) of Carthage, Dustin Spangler (Lynn) of West End; grandchildren, Cord, Charlie, Drew, Jamison, Johnathan, Dakota, Alex, Brennan, Cassidy, Dawson, Maddilynn; great-grandchildren, Winston, Layla, River, Raidden, Savannah; sisters, Jane Andrews of Raeford, Mauricia Dick (Andy) of Vass; brothers, John Wilson (Judy) of Aberdeen, Dan Wilson (Kay) of Carthage, Jimmy Wilson (Betty) of Foxfire, Steve Wilson of Vass.

She was a caring person and took very good care of her family. She had a sweet smile happy laugh and loved receiving company into her very clean home. Doris was very stubborn and strong will. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
