Doris Faye (Roberts) Smith

Doris Faye Smith, age 72, of Cameron formerly of Dayton, Tennessee was called home to heaven on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 1:00pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Altman officiating.

Doris was born in Bakewell, Tennessee on April 5, 1952, to the late Ovella Hyche and Howard Hyche. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Junior, sister, Marie, grandson Justin.

Doris and James met in Cleveland, Ohio in 1967 and it was love at first sight. Together, they raised four children and created a lifetime of memories filled with travel, laughter and love. Doris had a deep appreciation for nature and animals, finding joy in birdwatching and the serene sounds of the countryside. She loved movies and music, often turning everyday tasks into songs. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family. Doris was a devoted mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and friend who will be profoundly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Smith; children, Michele, Sheila, Jamie, Michael; siblings, Louis, Helen, Becky, Charles, Raymond, Tom; grandchildren, Chris, Ashley, Daniel, Britny, Sam, Korey, Ryann, Brock; great-grandchild, Remi.
