Edward Raymond Arnold, Sr., age 86, of Cameron, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Peak Resources Health & Rehab, with family by his side.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Cox Memorial Funeral Home from 5 until 7.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Cameron United Methodist Church at 11:00am with Pastor Rhonda Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at White Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
Raymond was born in Lillington, North Carolina on March 16, 1937, to the late Robert Owen and Lily Thomas Arnold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Arnold.
He spend 31 years in the U.S. National Guard SFC in various divisions and making his first formation role call in heaven today with several of his tank mates. He was an avid HAM radio operator as well. Raymond was a member of Cameron United Methodist Church for over 65 years. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Lillie Belle Arnold; son, Edward Raymond Arnold, Jr. and wife Juanita of Cameron; sisters, Hazel McBride of Sanford, Linda Dowdy of Pittsboro, NC; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
