Gladys Shamblin Obituary

 

Gladys Garrison Shamblin, age 91, of West End, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at her home, with family by her side.

Gladys was born in Moore County on November 3, 1928 to Albert H Garrison, Sr. and Mittie Ethel Garrison. She spent her working career as a Registered Nurse. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her children, Gwen McCarty, William H. Shamblin, Jr. and Paul Shamblin all of West End; brother, Fred Garrison; grandchildren, Robin Lancaster and husband Lance of Nevada and John Shamblin of West End; great-grandchildren, Alexis Levesque and husband Jordan, Tyler, Chase, Evin and Faith

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William “Bill” Hobert Shamblin, Sr; daughter, Deborah Jean Hansel; sisters, Betty, Clara Jean and Dorothy; brothers, William, Ira,  A.H., Jr, James, Richard, Ralph and Bruce; great-grandson, Lance William Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst, 150 Applecross Rd, Pinehurst NC 28374.

Services will be held at a later date.
