Grace Lee Thompson

Grace Lee Cummings Thompson, age 93, passed away on June 3, 2019 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst with her family by her side.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at New Home Baptist Church in Vass at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Trey Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the burial service.

Grace was born in Moore County on September 9, 1925 to Troy and Nellie Garner Ring. She was the owner and operator of Humpty Dumpty Day Care Center for years. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Paul Cummings (Carol) of Carthage, P. Howard Cummings (Sally) of Bunnlevel, Sandra Cummings Hines (Luke) of Pinehurst; sister, Helen Ross of Whispering Pines; brother, Lawrence Ring of Vass; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Troy and Nellie Garner Ring, husbands, Sanford Lee Cummings and John Lewis Thompson; son, Billy Cummings; brothers, Ernest Ring and Layton Ring.
