Helen "Polly" Godby

Helen “Polly” Wilson Godby, age 75, of Cameron, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Trey Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1 until 2. Burial will follow in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

Polly was born in Moore County on October 20, 1944 to the late Roy Willie and Pearl Mae Jessup Wilson. She was always a source of inspiration and leaves behind a harvest of memories to cherish and honor. Polly was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of  43 years, Dean Godby; children,  Sharon Bibey (Lonnie), Angela Garner (David), Christy King (Mike), Joy Lee (W.S.), Missy Oxendine (Ed), James Godby; sister, Joyce Shumake (David); brother, Jimmy Wilson (Patsy); grandchildren, Ashley Smith (John), Robert Bibey, Blake Oxendine, Riley Oxendine, Ashley Bortysky, Jessica King, Alex Lee and Mica Caldwell and a special furry friend Little One.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Rollins; brothers,  Roy Lindy Wilson and Cole Edward Wilson.
