Hubert Samuel Peele

Hubert Samuel Peele, age 96, of Whispering Pines, completed his earthly journey on Monday, October 31, 2022, at FirstHealth Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 2:00pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gregg Newton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1 until 2. Burial will follow at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

Hubert was born in Moore County on October 31, 1926 to the late Samuel Epherain and Mary Jane (Molly) Johnson Peele. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Laura Ring, Celia Collins, Bessie Collins, brothers, Benny Peele, Alex Peele.

Hubert retired from CSX Railroad after over 36 years of service. He was the first deacon ordained at New Home Baptist Church and a Charter Member. He was an active member of churches wherever he lived and volunteered his services through the church. He was a kind, gentle, courteous, passionate, and loving man. He enjoyed service to the Lord and traveling. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Peggy Melton Peele, son, Danny Lee Peele and wife Ruth of Sanford.
