Jackie Allen Mills, Sr.

Jackie Allen Mills, Sr., age 67, of Cameron, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 4:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Vass with Pastor Bill Davis and Pastor John Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 3 until 4.  

Jackie was born in Siler City, North Carolina on April 17, 1956, to the late James William Mills, Sr. and Lue Eastridge Mills. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy and Mike Mills.

Jackie was a true jokester, always enjoying a good laugh with his family. He was a hard worker that provided for his family until his body wouldn’t allow it. He was his son’s hero and best friend. His grandkids were his pride and joy; he spent many years caring for them and gave them the true love of a grandfather. He will be remembered for many things, some being his quick wit, his mischievous grin and his ability to make many of his famous “concoctions” in the kitchen. He was the best husband, father and grandfather that any of us could have asked for and he will be missed by us all.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vickie Collins Mills; sons, Jackie Allen Mills, Jr. (Sherry) of Jackson Springs, Bobby Ryan Mills (Amber) of Cameron, Daniel Arnold Mills (Annie) of Southern Pines; grandchildren, Jarrett (Keelyn), Angel, Kaylin, Hailey, Danielle, Bobby Ryan, Amanda, Daniel, Jr., Luann, Emma and one great-grandchild, Aniston Faith; sisters, Annie Ruth Briggs of Vass, Patricia Westmoreland (Darrell) of Surfside, Jessie Mills Maddox of Sanford.
