James Larry Thomas

James Larry Thomas, age 78, of Aberdeen, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family.
 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gregg Newton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00. Burial will follow in Johnson Grove Cemetery with Military Honors.

James was born in North Carolina on April 14, 1941 to the late Mason Alexander and Olivia Cameron Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his fiancé, Patricia Mills and son, James Arnold Thomas. James proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Angie Taylor (Ben Dye) of South Carolina, Ron Thomas (Vonnie) of Carthage; sisters, Jeanette Ramsey of West Virginia and Barbara Simpson of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Justin, Brett, Troy, Dawn, Carrie (David), Faith Jacob and Corey; great-grandchild, Eliza.
