John "Tony" Barber

John Anthony “Tony” Barber, age 74, of Lakeview, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Peak Resources in Carthage, surrounded by his loving family. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at House of the Lord in Cameron. The family will be available 30 minutes prior to the service to receive friends. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

Tony was born in Moore County on May 5, 1947 to the late John and Mozelle Reynolds Barber. He spent his career as a carpenter, enjoyed spending his spare time with his family and fishing at every opportunity. He also loved working in his garden and enjoyed a good clean joke. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joanne Ring Barber; sons, Dwayne (Anita) of Sanford and Stanley (Kellie) of Lakeview; sisters, Cathy Sutherland of Carthage, Darlene Maness (Roger) of Highfalls, Diane Barber of Carthage; grandchildren, Caitlin, Dylan, Andrew and great-grandson, Brooks.
