Joyce Ethel Dorothy (Stuve) Petersen

Joyce Stuve Petersen, age 93, award winning graphic designer of Vass, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Norlina, NC.

Joyce was born in New Jersey on August 11, 1932 to the late Herman Stuve and Ethel Hilke Stuve. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Petersen, and granddaughter Monisha Egerton Roberson.

Joyce is survived by her children, Leslie Egerton (Jeff), and Lawrence Petersen (Faun). Her grandchildren are Zachary Egerton and, Travis Egerton (Ronah), great-grandchildren, Abby and Michael Roberson, and Nabi Egerton.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 12 until 1 at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. An interment will follow at 2:00pm at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines.
