Joyce Ann (Childress) Ring

Joyce Childress Ring, age 84, of Cameron, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 2:00pm at Lamm’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Carthage with Pastor Sam Garris officiating.

Joyce was born in Moore County on June 17, 1941, to the late Spencer Dallas Childress and Mary Holder Childress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Mae Gulledge, brothers, David, Preston, Billy, Roger Childress.

She is survived by her sons, Rodney Ring of Carthage, C.  Allen Ring of Cameron; grandchildren, Matthew Ring, Lillie Ring; great-grandchild, Kyle; sister, Sylvia Ring of Cameron; brothers, Clinton Childress of Cameron, Eugene Childress of Sanford.

Joyce was a gifted and passionate quilter. She created countless pieces that reflected warmth, care and love. Her family members will treasure the quilts as lasting reminders of her talent, love and affection. She also had a passion for family history, she dedicated many hours to researching her roots, ensuring that the stories and heritage of past generations were preserved for the future. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed.
