Kenneth "Ken" McSmith Obituary

Kenneth Troy McSmith, age 60, of Vass (Woodlake), passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 1:00pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors.

Ken was born in New Mexico on December 26, 1965 to Troy Lee McSmith and the late Louise Burks McSmith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Brenda, Debbie and Susie.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa McSmith; children, Brandon McSmith (Krystal) of Spring Lake, Kristina McSmith of High Point, Logan Campbell (DesiRae) of Florida; grandchildren, Dalton, McKinley, Naomi, Levi, Lettie and Luka; sisters, Cheryl Hagan (Phillip) of Texas, Michelle Ursua of California, Angie Gilmore of Kansas; brothers, Jeff McSmith (Michelle) of Arizona, Jeff Gilmore (Lisa) of Oklahoma, William Gilmore (Bobbie Jo) of Oklahoma; he is also survived by his furry friends/companions, Lily, Willow, Hope (Kitty Kitty).

Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an avid NASCAR fan but his greatest pleasures were spending time with his kids and grandkids and planning the next camping trip. For his working career he spent 20 years with Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Fayetteville.

In Lieu of flowers, donation may be made to FirstHealth Hospice of Pinehurst.
