Lela Marlene Craven

Lela Marlene Lamar Craven, age 68, of Lakeview, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Lela was born in Beechgrove, Indiana to the late James and Lela Lamar on July 21, 1951. In her spare time she enjoyed working with her arts and crafts and sewing but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.  Lela was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, SFC Steven Craven USA Retired; children, Gary Jackson of Alabama, Rebel Towry also of Alabama, Steven Craven (Michele) of Lakeview, James Craven (Maija) of Carthage and Matthew Craven (Linda) of Vass; sisters, Jamie Hignite and Marti Lamar both of Indiana; brothers, Butch Lamar, Dale Lamar and Karl Lamar all of Indiana; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
