Lonnie Ray Bibey

Lonnie Ray Bibey, age 59, of Vass, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Holly Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 with Pastor Bill Davis officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service and other times at the home of Ashley Bibey Smith, 209 Riverview Drive, Vass NC 28394.

Lonnie was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina on July 19, 1962, to the late Colonel and Lula Hales Bibey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Ann Bibey, brothers, Rickey Bibey and David Michael Bibey. He spent his working career as a logger and mechanic. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sharon Williams Bibey; children, Ashley Marie Smith and husband John of Vass, Robert Bibey also of Vass; sister, Bonnie Bibey Vigario and husband Jose of Vass and one grandchild, Anna Marie Smith.
