Margaret "Mutt" Virginia (Hennings) Jessup

Margaret Virginia “Mutt” Hennings Jessup, age 92, of Vass, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Vass Presbyterian Church with Pastor Wendell McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the burial in the church fellowship hall.

Margaret was born in Vass, North Carolina on April 6, 1930, to the late James Wesley Hennings and Millie Cordelia Wooten Hennings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Smith Jessup, sons, Billie Smith Jessup, Jr. and Jerry Ray Jessup, sisters, Annabelle Kiser, Irene Williams and Rosa Lee Keith and brother, Weldon “Pete” Hennings.

Margaret was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, James Levi Jessup (Pamela) of Sanford, Joyce Marie Jessup, Terry Wayne Jessup and Dennis Robin Jessup all of Vass; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vass Presbyterian Church, 310 Main Street, Vass, NC 28394, in memory of Margaret Jessup.
