Marty Waymond Murchison

Marty Waymond Murchison, age 51, of Sanford, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 2:00pm at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with Pastor Don Flynn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 1 until 2. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Marty was born in Moore County on August 21, 1971, to the late Charles Thomas Murchison and Cathy Marks Murchison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Young, grandchildren, Thomas Clyde Waters and Lacey Patrick Armstrong.

Marty enjoyed working on cars, drag racing, deep sea fishing, cooking and most of all spending time with his family. He spent his working career as a truck driver and was recently employed with Ingersoll Rand. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his domestic partner of 16 years, Brandy O’Quinn McGehee; children, Charley and Sophie Murchison of the home, Tiffany McGehee Armstrong (Jake), Bryson Taylor; grandchild, Magnolia “Maggie” Armstrong; sister, Sonya Murchison Smith (James), special aunt, Sadie Flynn (A.G.); nieces, Jenna and Reganne; nephews, Corey and Blake.
