Melvin Dennis Cunningham

Melvin Dennis Cunningham, age 84, of Carthage, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Melvin was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on August 7, 1939 to the late Clarence Ray and Grace Vincent Cunningham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara M.  Cunningham, brother, Vincent Ray Cunningham.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy with over 28 years of service and a tour in Vietnam. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his children, Dennis Hudson Cunningham of Virginia, Amy Cunningham DeVanno of Carthage; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A private service is planned at a later date.
