Rex Lyndon Poindexter

On the day of July 16, 2023, we lost a great man.

Rex Lyndon Poindexter, age 58, of Aberdeen, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at FirstHealth Hospice House, with his family by his side.

Rex was born in Randolph County on October 22, 1964, to the late Bill Ernest Poindexter and Montana Ritter Furr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, stepfather, Charles McNair, sister-in-law, Sharon Tyndall and C.W. Poindexter. He was a man of many talents that range from, his famous BBQ, coleslaw he made with his feet, to being a jack of all trades. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and to some a friend to all he came across.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dianne Poindexter; daughter, Ginger Poindexter of Aberdeen; son, Rex Poindexter, Jr. of Spring Lake; grandchildren, Nathanyal, Lillyanna, Carlos, Nevaeh, Braylen; brothers, Randy, Ronnie, Ricky and Richard; mother-in-law, Glenna Tyndall; sister-in-law, Brenda Gale Ledbetter; son-in-law, Abel Gallegos.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Aberdeen Lake Park from 3 until 6.
