Robena Wright Black

Robena Hudson Wright Black, age 87, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst, surrounded by her family.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Pocket Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 1:00 pm with Pastor Chad Neal officiating.

Robena a native of Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Carrie Hudson and the widowed of Grady Wright and William Black, Jr. She was a retired industrial engineer and plant manager and was an active member of Pocket Presbyterian Church. Robena was a volunteer at the Enrichment Center and a member of Modern Woodmen of America. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Kaye Joyner (Phillip) of Sanford, Faye Stubits also of Sanford, Randy Wright (Sherri) of Virginia and Darryl Wright of Sanford; sister Louise Cox of South Carolina; grandchildren, Kellye Melton and Stephanie Oglesbee; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan, Jolie, Kaitlyn and Rody; step-great-grandchildren, Erin and Eric; great-great-grandchildren, Scarlet and Carson.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Lou, Edith and Elizabeth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Pocket Presbyterian Church,  669 Pocket Church Road, Sanford, NC 27330.
