Ronald Dean Godby

Ronald Dean Godby, age 71, of Vass, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Vass with Pastor Roy Arrington officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 at the Funeral Home. Burial with full Military Honors will follow the service at New Home Baptist Church in Vass. 

Dean was born on June 9, 1950 to the late James and Evelyn White Godby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Godby; brothers Ray and Dan; grandson, Edward Oxendine, Jr. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired as a twenty-year Veteran. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. “Blue Skys Forever.”

He is survived by his daughters, Chris King (Michael) of LaGrange, NC, Missy Oxendine (Ed) of Fayetteville, Sharon Bibey of Vass, Angela Garner (David) of California; son, Dean Godby of Vass; sisters, Faye Arrigale, Evey Cantrell (Farley) both of Kentucky, Sherry Ramer of Colorado, Billie Godby of Ohio; brothers Don Godby of Arizona, Tim Godby; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many life-long friends all over the world.
