Rosa Kennedy Obituary

Rosa Miller Kennedy, age 88, of Aberdeen, passed away on September 8, 2025 at her home with her loved ones at her side.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 10:00AM till 11:00AM at Cox Memorial Funeral Home in Vass.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 12:00PM at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

Rosa was born in Duplin County on September 13, 1937 to the late Wallace and Iva Langley Miller and was raised by the late David and Clara Turner Rhodes.  Rosa was one of twenty children and the wife of the late Elwood Kennedy, Sr.  Rosa and Elwood were the parents of six children: Deborah Kennedy, Dee Davis (Robert), the late Diana Kennedy, Elwood Kennedy, Jr., Wanda Currie (Gerald) and David Kennedy (Maria).  She also had eleven grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rosa was a military wife and enjoyed the many places they lived and the friends she made.  She enjoyed traveling to many wonderful places with family and friends.  She loved the family dog, Stich, who was by her side.

The family would like to thank all the Hospice Caregivers but a special thank you to Mia Carre and DeeDee Tillotson for all the love and care you gave our mother.
