Roy "Curt" Curtis Smith

Roy Curtis Smith, age 81, of Vass, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Vass at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Curt was born in Raeford on August 11, 1937 to Duncan Hector and Margie Foster Smith. He was a local career farmer and also sold firewood. He was a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.   

He is survived by his wife, Nettie Ann Faulk Smith; children, Rhonda Smith Fields, Becky “Corky” Diane Smith, Donald Curtis Smith (Evelyn) all of Vass; sister, Myrtle Anderson of Vass; grandchildren, Reed Smith, Jamie Fields; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Jayden and Bryson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Duncan Hector and Margie Foster Smith; daughter, Judy Faye Hudson; sister, Rebecca Arthur; brothers, Duncan Hector Smith, Jr. and Daniel Robert Smith; grandchildren, Donald, Jr., Crystal and Larry..
