Ruby Ellen (Burnette) Carlyle

Ruby Burnette Carlyle, age 81, of Cameron, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 2:00pm at Johnson Grove Cemetery with Pastor John Brown officiating.

Ruby was born in Lee County on July 31, 1942, to the late Raymond Scott Burnette and Florence Medlin Burnette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Douglas Carlyle, sister, Effie Marks, brothers, James Ray Burnette, Bruce Medlin, Raymond Burnette, Jr.

Fall was her favorite and for many years she and Freddie covered their front yard in pumpkins for people from all over to come and enjoy. They eventually moved the pumpkins across the road over to their country store. Elementary classes would come to the farm to learn from the best about what it took to grow the pumpkins and take a hayride. She lived for her grandkids and is a core memory for all of them in their younger years. She loved to craft, and her grandkids were always there to help get the materials for her latest creation. She went all out with decorations from October-Christmas, and it is something people from all over noticed.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Freddie Gene Carlyle; children, Danny Carlyle (Cindy), Tony Carlyle (Melinda), Debbie Carlyle Phillips (Dean) all of Cameron; grandchildren, Tiffany, Morgan, Darin, Ashley, Brandon, Casey; great-grandchildren, Addi, Carly, Remi, Anastasia, Weston; brother, Robert Scott Burnette of Cameron.
