Sally Louise (Thompson) Hearne

Sally Louise Thompson Hearne, age 80, of Vass passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Peak Resources in Carthage, surrounded by her family.

Sally was born on November 5, 1942 in Wilson County to the late Haywood and Effie Lee Thompson.  She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Pearl and Joann.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Joseph R. Hearne; daughter, Robin Sticklen (Bill) of Virginia; son, Daniel Hearne (Darcey) of Wilmington; one grandchild, Clayton Denny (Liz) and one great-grandchild, Caleb Denny.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she spent years as a seamstress working at Whisper Knits and in sales at Peebles.  She was much loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 3:00PM at Open Arms Community Church in Vass with Pastor John Brown officiating, with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00PM.  Burial will follow at the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Vass.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Open Arms Community Church or Alzheimers Association.
