Susan (Bercini) Carter

Susan Bercini Carter, 77, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2023, at her home. Susan was born on October 13, 1945, in Lee County, North Carolina to Clarence Michael Bercini and Rosa Delores Spivey Bercini Congelli. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Butler and Irene Kelly Spivey and her infant son, Dennis Marion Carter.

Susan retired from Lee County Schools with 30 years of service where she worked as a cafeteria worker, teacher assistant and school bus driver. Susan was known for her generosity of always doing for others. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband, Paul H. Carter; son, Paul David (Karen) Carter; daughter, Dee Carter (Rufus) Taylor; grandchildren, Jordan, Madison, Jackson Carter, Scott, Shane and Maxx Taylor; brother, Danny Bercini, sister, Michele Congelli (Ed) Gallant and Tina Congelli Sadlick and special nephew Justin Patterson.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Chapel Church Cemetery with Pastor Scott Finicum officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside.
